“Climate change is the greatest challenge facing our generation”. This gives us “a focus on the wellbeing of our place and the wellbeing of people in our place”.

Chair of Cheshire & Warrington Sub-regional Leaders' Board

Welcome to the Cheshire and Warrington Sub-regional Website

The Cheshire and Warrington Sub-regional Leaders Board is a collaborative partnership which brings together key public and private sector partner organisations from across the Sub-region. The Board and its partners work to deliver our two overarching priorities – economic growth and public service reform – set out in our Prospectus for Inclusive Growth and Public Sector Transformation Programme.

A key theme running through both of these plans is inclusivity. We have a strong economy in Cheshire and Warrington – one which out-performs most other parts of the country – but in delivering growth and reform, we need to make sure we continue to create a local economy that works for all, not just some, of our residents and businesses.

Our partners recognise that this can only be achieved through a collaborative, strategic approach, and we have a strong track record of effective partnership working across the Sub-region – relationships we are determined to further develop in the best interests of every community within Cheshire and Warrington. We will also continue our discussions with central government about a substantial transfer of powers, responsibilities and funding to our Sub-region, as well as developing a Local Industrial Strategy for the area.

For more information about what we do, please browse this website or contact us directly.
