This year’s Public Sector Expo, held at Manchester Central on Tuesday 20th November, was a great opportunity to explore the key opportunities facing the public sector in the 21st century. If you’ve never been, the event attracts over 1000 delegates and hosts a plethora of discussion panels and speakers (this year there were 90 in total), in five thematic “theatres”. Each theatre has its own programme, throughout the day, with activities happening simultaneously. With so much to do and listen to (including 30 hours of CPD accredited content), planning ahead is a must. In addition to the various presentations, over 50 exhibitors are on hand to share their public sector solutions, ranging from recruitment agencies to digital solutions for transport, HR, buildings maintenance and procurement. The Expo has a real buzz about it and if you like networking, it provides an ideal opportunity to make contact with people from across the sector with varied perspectives and specialisms. Even standing in the queue for lunch, the conversation was vibrant and productive.
